He makes it cause LeBron & Kawhi aren't going, plus he was on the 2014 team

So right now we're looking at
Lowry
Butler/DeRozan
George/Melo
Durant/Draymond
Cousins/Jordan

3 spots left, we're waiting on Kyrie & Klay's answers and there's one other spot. Players who were finalists that haven't pulled out yet

PG: Mike Conley, Michael Carter-Williams
SG: Bradley Beal
SF: Gordon Hayward, Rudy Gay, Harrison Barnes
PF: Kevin Love, Kenneth Faried
C: Dwight Howard

Chris Paul endorses Raptors' Lowry for Team USA after withdrawing - Sportsnet.ca

When the 30 finalists for USA Basketball’s Olympic team were unveiled, the lone representative from the Toronto Raptors was DeMar DeRozan.

Los Angeles Clippers superstar Chris Paul believes there should be a second Raptor competing for a shot to play in Rio.

In an interview with Sports Illustrated’s Lee Jenkins, Paul announced he is withdrawing from consideration for a spot on the team and specifically mentioned all-star point guard Kyle Lowry as a candidate to fill his spot at the camp.

“Someone else I think would be great is Kyle Lowry,” Paul told Jenkins. “I love watching him play. You need that grit.”

Real Recognize real.....Lowry has crushed Cp3 in head to head matchups the last 2 years and he sees it.

probably have to go back to '04 or '00 for a wacker lineup, Kyrie and Klay should make it look better

I dunno - that seems like a really good lineup for the international game, especially if they pick up Klay. I don't think they even need Kyrie - Conley as the backup pg would be good enough.

Defensively, having Lowry/Butler/George/Draymond/Jordan would just be killer.

Offensively, Klay/Melo/Durant/Cousins would be dominant. The PG wouldn't need to be a big scorer with all the available options.

And all those defenders except Jordan are great at offense too, while the offensive guys I highlighted are generally average to above-average defenders too.

The coach would have so many options. There could be more killer lineups with this team than anything recently.

The only question is who takes over and leads it. Is it Lowry? Melo? Durant? Does Green stay in his place or get loud?

just meant from a super star perspective

That's definitely true, but Team USA started realizing some time ago that getting the right fit of guys was better than getting the biggest names. Other than DeRozan and possibly the Cousins/Jordan combo, that group looks like a perfect fit for the Olympics. And even Cousins could be a fantastic international center as long as he keeps his head straight.

Klay is in. Only two spots left, they're waiting for Kyrie & LeBron to commit or not

Might as well make this the official thread
