Yeah but where did it come from. Who was quoted saying this? Who said that he wanted to be "the man" and this is the reason why he's asked me for a trade? We are running with a narrative based solely on an opinion to make a story?
Im not saying that its true but its part of the same report lol if you not going to believe it then dismiss the entire report imo.

Kyrie Irving requesting trade out of Cleveland to find bigger role

Kyrie Irving is ready to end his run with the Cleveland Cavaliers, as league sources told ESPN that the guard has asked the team to trade him.

The request came last week and was made to Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert. Irving has expressed that he wants to go play in a situation where he can be a more focal point and no longer wants to play alongside LeBron James, sources said.

Irving's agent Jeff Wechsler would not confirm or deny whether Irving asked for a trade.

"Kyrie and I had a meeting with Cavs leadership where we discussed many different scenarios in reference to Kyrie and his future with the team," Wechsler told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. "The basis of those discussions and what went on in those discussions are between the Cavs and us. We are respectfully going to keep those private."

This is the media creating a rift between 2 players, for no reason other than to get more clicks. Nobody has said that he has said he 'no longer wants to play alongside LeBron James. 'sources said' is the new way for writers to get away with outlandish statements.

This is not journalism, this is sensationalism.

Sure, maybe he does want to be the focal point. But he's never come across, ever, as this alpha male I have to be the leader type. Also, he knows LeBron James is his biggest chance - aside from joining the Warriors - of reaching the NBA Finals.

They know fans will go crazy for this and will share it and this will get them more clicks, but you can't really call this journalism.

Unless it comes from Woj. Then this is a cot damn fact.

It's reported Kyrie said this to the Cavs in their meeting last week
Cool, by who? No one is putting their name on anything and now we have a situation where it's a case of Kyrie vs. Lebron thing. It's not right breh. Kyrie is being put in a bad light for nothing. No one from his camp said anything about being the "man".

Wherever nikkas need to be told on
Nobody wants to be Scottie Pippin.

Nobody wants to be robin.

You wanna be THE man & that's why PG wasn't tryna play sidekick for lebron & kyrie don't wanna be lebron`s sidekick anymore.:yeshrug:
And meanwhile the Golden State Warriors gonna be snatching all them chips

His agent confirmed the meeting & could've easily shot that part down. Has to have some truth

It's a good deal for both teams, right? Might have to get creative around the salary but it could work.
They could easily make it work. Nuggets have the right contracts and young players to match up. Kyrie would be a great fit there too.

Anyone else see this happening with Golden State & Klay in the not-so-distant-future?
Lebron's known for straight up abandoning nikkas out the blue and making a spectacle of it, that's gonna cause players to think about doing what Kyrie just did and i aint even mad at him for doing it, Bron don't really give a fukk about none of these nikkas like that, he was tighter with Wade and Bosh and he left them nikkas in a heartbeat, Kyrie and everyone else who plays with lebron knows that's in his character

yall playing into that "wants to be the focal point" narrative a bit too much imo, the real issue was everyone knowing Bron was leaving and not wanting to be left behind in the dumpster fire that is the Cleveland Cavaliers

I can picture Klay asserting himself before it gets to that point, steph has no issues falling back, KD just got his first ring i doubt he'd complain, they both can just save energy for the playoffs and defer to klay during the regular season, they'd be just fine
