Kyrie may not be the best or better then Russell but he may have something that those others don't have. The ability to step up in the moment with ice water in his veins. He'll never be a pure point on the level of CP3 but his shooting ability is as good or better than Dame's, his ability to get to the rack is on par with Russy's or better and the way he uses his offhand and contorts his body is amazing. He's not the quickest or most athletic guard but his handle is probably the nicest in the league and he can get to anywhere on the court he needs to. Lucky for him that Bron came back home cause like I have said many times before it changed the whole trajectory of his career. Before that he was destined to be seen as the new age Marbury/Francis as a guy who puts up numbers on mediocre teams. But now he's got a chance to go down as one of the greatest players to ever don an NBA jersey.

Russ has not sniffed the playoffs without Durant.

Obviously Russ would have more career accolades, he's had the longer career:martin:

Kyrie isn't even in his prime yet, and has shown more poise and skill in big games, than Russ has.
Russ missed out on tiebreakers in a season where Russ missed time too. 45 wins is a lot more than 33. Irving is 5 years in. To this point, Russ has a laughable gap in per game averages that he's peaked at in every category. This is not a debate. 1 all NBA third team in a 5 year career compared to 4 all NBA second teams and an all NBA first team.

No,Kyrie was great In the finals:whoa:

But I can't truly give him that credit because when he was by himself he wasn't even making the playoffs, his game has elevated since Bron has came to Cleveland, but it takes a TON of pressure off if Kyrie.

I got Kyrie a top 5 PG but I can't give him the best in the game right now.:manny:
When Russ was by himself he didn't make the playoffs either.

It would have taken 46 wins to make it for Oklahoma City that year. The thunder won 45. Irving peaked at 33 wins in one of the worst eastern conferences in recent memory where a 38 win team made it.

Russ was also a vet, with a way better supporting cast.

One more time.

Russ choked when it matters. Kyrie stepped up.

You're 1000% correct, my statement completely lacked context. I realized it right after I posted.

But Russ was on a much better team with vet teammates and Durant got them wins that year. My thing about it is they had a lead over a weaker Pelicans team but couldn't close out the season.

Props for actually conceding when presented with new information. They did have the lead, but let's not forget how many players missed games to injury. Then there's also them employing Scott Brooks as coach. Hey had no business ever going anywhere employing a coach that inept. Buddy went and got spanked by Erik spoelstra in the finals :scust:

Y'all musta forgot that year OKC was only ONE game out of the playoffs and Russ and KD both missed games.

Had Russ played all 82 games they would've made it can't say the same for Kyrie.

And Kyrie was in the bum ass east :scust:

I'd still take Westbrook over Kryie on the Olympic team. Westbrook's a far better facilitator of the ball.
