The real answer is (in regards to +/-) that the team is more centered around LeBron's strengths, rather than Kyrie's. That meaningless stat could read much differently if the team had poor guard play outside of Kyrie and strong wing/frontcourt depth.

:manny:

I don't get why no one else really realizes this. Imagine Lebron on the current Thunder squad, getting a bunch of open three looks to players that literally can't hit threes. People think he'd carry them to some 60+ win record, but he'd probably have troubles the same way Westbrook is because teams would just jam up the paint and fukk up his attempts at driving to the rim.

If Kyrie was on the Jazz they would probably be the 2nd best team in the league as the entire roster is suited perfectly for him. Same thing happened with Dirk in 2011 when they won their championship, the roster was made incredibly well to play to his strengths and minimize his weaknesses and it worked to perfection.

You can't just pick and plug players with no regard for all the factors that contributed to their current predicament. For starters if Bron is in OKC then KD is as well and maybe even Harden too. There likely would have been a greater focus on getting shooters and more shooters lining up to play with Bron. Despite the stretch 4 trend, there are still more backcourt shooters than front court ones. You see how CLE picked up Mo Williams for nothing and played pretty well with Kyrie out last year. Beyond all that Bron has shown himself to be incredibly mutable. That 2010 Heat squad had no shooting and dominated the team with the best record and defense in the L. 2015 Cavs hung with the Warriors for 6 games with no shooting. nikka was a dominant post player, 40% 3pt shooter, and top rebounder and rim protector on his team one year. Kyrie has yet to show all that, and frankly is not physically capable of most of it. I don't see him getting to the Finals at 22 with a Boobie Gibson caliber front court guy as his 2nd option. Kyrie is a beast and perfect in his current role, but the attempts to compare him to Bron just make people look silly.

If you weren't so focused on trying to catch me slipping, you'd realize that was an awful excuse when the post I was disputing was "It's Kyrie's team now."

:deadmanny:

So I guess you agree this sure as hell ain't Kyrie's team. :pachaha:

Now, your excuse for the +/- makes no sense to me. Remind me who Kyrie's backup is again? In the 2015 playoffs and 2015-16 regular season, Lebron was putting up fantastic +/- with freaking Delly at the point and a shaky JR platooning with an injured Shump.

Lebron is actually "easier" for the Cavs to replace than Kyrie, because they can put Jefferson/Dunleavy/Shump at the three AND Love/Frye/Thompson can all play the four, depending on how they want to complement Kyrie. But none of the mix-and-match works.

Lebron, on the other hand, is basically stuck with Shump supposedly playing point, but that's okay because LEBRON can take most of that responsibility on himself. And they can mix-and-match any combo of 2-3-4-5 around that because Lebron can slide around taking different responsibilities. That is what makes Lebron so much more valuable to this team.

This year, in small sample size, the Cav lineups without Kyrie have been:

Shump-Jefferson-Dunleavy-Lebron-Frye +50/48
Shump-JR-Lebron-Love-Thompson +43/48
Shump-McRae-Jefferson-Lebron-Frye +25/48
Shump-McRae-Dunleavy-Lebron-Frye -14/48

Meanwhile, the best Cav lineups without Lebron is:

Shump-Dunleavy-Jefferson-Love-Thompson +5/48

Oh, with Kyrie but no Lebron?

Kyrie-Shump-Dunleavy-Jefferson-Birdman -6/48
Kyrie-Shump-Dunleavy-Jefferson-Love -17/48
Kyrie-Shump-JR-Love-Thompson -25/48
Kyrie-Shump-Jefferson-Love-Thompson -32/48

That's 60 minutes of lineups without Lebron in the game, and they're not finding ANYTHING that worked with Kyrie in. Whose play are you going to blame it on?

And that's a small sample size, but you want to see last year?

Delly-JR-Lebron-Love-TT +28/48
Delly-Mo-Lebron-Love-TT +50/48
Delly-Shump-JR-Lebron-TT +9/48
Delly-Shump-Lebron-Love-TT +9/48
Mo-JR-Lebron-Love-Mosgov +2/48

Kyrie-Shump-JR-Love-TT +7/48
Kyrie-Delly-Shump-Love-TT -8/48
Kyrie-Delly-Shump-Frye-TT -9/48

And the single most effective 5-man lineup in last year's playoffs?

Delly-Shump-Jefferson-Lebron-Frye +42/48 in 77 minutes together

The #1 two-man combo for the Cavs last year? Delly and Lebron, +18/48 in 1200 minutes together. Lebron can succeed without Kyrie on the floor, and it ain't because of no amazing PG subs.

Kyrie has had 6 years to show us who he plays well with....in 6 years, the closest we've got to an answer is "Lebron better be on the floor".

I was going to hit you on that one Kobe, but FTBS already nailed it.

:noah:

Lebron is too versatile and his bball IQ is too high to have Westbrook-type problems against the crap teams the Thunder are struggling against. They close off one thing, he'd post more or work with Adams more or hit more threes himself. Or focus on the elite defense they could be and get what they could in transition. Oladipo is a good three-point shooter and Sabonis is a solid stretch-four who hits the three...why isn't that enough if you're a point guard and should be hitting them too? Lebron would be fine on spacing with those two and any normal PG, especially with Adams creating other problems inside. He's played with worse shooters than that.

Cavs fans are funny style.

I do remember the Warriors being up 3-1 until Bron started bytchin to the league for help.. Straight sucka shyt to get Green suspended then the refs in game 6 made sure to keep curry in foul trouble ultimately ejecting him off a bullshyt call...

Are you really trying to defend a dude throwing punches?:what:

That's funny style. :martin:

Come on rook. You're making us look bad in these coli streets breh.
