We’d be banking on Monk resigning again for the low plus another young player or two following that same logic. We should do well with the undrafted market so we might could get better youth production than last year.

But if we really considering this, I’d be trying my best to use the least amount of resources. If Kyrie crazy enough to sign for 6 then that gives the team much more flexibility. And before anyone says it, yes I know this scenario is nearly impossible even for a flat earther.

He's not signing for 6 that's not realistic imao. He does the Sign and Trade and we are hard capped and I'm saying I still think we can out together a good team as long as we trade THT and possibly Nunn.

Nets are dealing Kyrie in this situation because he’s a toxic asset…he’s likely not pulling back a major haul anymore …the leverage isn’t there really … a couple draft picks and young players are about all id expect if a deal were to be made …if not they can keep his nutty ass and deal with whatever he brings to them on another max deal

SALARIES HAVE TO MATCH
SO THEY CANT TRADE HIM
FOR JUST A COUPLE OF PICKS
AND YOUNG PLAYERS.

Perfect scenario:

* Kyrie opts out and signs the MLE
* Laker trade Westbrook plus draft picks for 2 role players

However, is J.Buss is willing to go deep into the luxury tax?

Lol ain’t no way he giving that much money up but I want the fukkery. All jokes aside I’d have no problem with Russ staying it would either end up being a wild success or the comedy show of a lifetime :skip:

It’s a huge gamble, Russ plays but he’s be sabotaging. Kyrie barely plays but he’s a better player and fit. I think she’d do it tho given the past success of Bron/Kyrie.

Kyrie raises the Nets ceiling more than anyone else they could realistically get. Plus the cap will probably spike again in 2025 with new TV deal.

Kyrie talent/ceiling never been the question, his availability and injury history is. They go ahead and give him that 4 year deal, he starts acting up again and this can backfire.

I just hope Jeannie doesn't penny-pinch on the rest of the roster.
