I think it’s because it went from being more of a fair fade to straight up bullying. Also, who can speak of progressive rights and outright ignore the terrorism that so called Israel engages in? The same inertia holding up a conclusion to this process is the same inertia that prevents any positive developments in the world. It’s a symptom of our greater issue as human beings. We know what’s right but we allow ourselves to believe that wrong is inherently a part of this world. Nah, we allow it.
Especially when you read shyt like Fanon it makes perfect sense why everything happens as it does. This is classic settler colonialism, apartheid, and manifest destiny all in one. One of the sickest nations that the world has ever created.

Its crazy, each Palestinian faces a different form of oppression from systemic oppression in Israel itself to neo Manifest Destiny in the West Bank to a straight up open air prison of 2 million in Gaza. Current climate and other jews/jewish organizations criticizing Israeli policies provides cover for people to speak out about Palestine today with fewer repercussions than in past eras.
Jewish watchdog organizations were bullying and intimidating people from publicly expressing support for Palestine before.
