Maybe 30-40 years ago you could say there was still some uncertainty, but the fossil record and DNA studies are much too clear now. The only extent to which modern humans "originated" anywhere outside of Africa is the tiny bit of Neanderthal DNA and Denisovan DNA that ended up mixed into the modern human genome. But even Neanderthals and Denisovans were originally from Africa too, their ancestors just left 1-2 million years earlier than modern Homo sapiens did.

The Earth's land masses have barely changed in the last 20 million years - pictures you see of the continents shifting mostly represent shyt that happened hundreds of millions of years ago, even billions. Since modern humans dispersed from Africa about 2 million years ago, and Homo sapiens dispersed from Africa just 60,000-100,000 years ago, there ain't no underwater human continents to worry about or any shyt like that.
