No. One of their analytic tools predicted the Celtics to get to the Finals.

In ESPN's official prediction it was the Cavs and it wasn't close.

Ah okay

I stand corrected......

That said I am not going to judge Kyrie by the same standard as if Hayward was there.....

but as a franchise player....I certainly can....

For what its worth I still think he is a 25-6-4 guy at minimum.....he really does have a phenomenal skillset

People on this forum called him Kobe's son(that entire Kobe family thread is an absolute gem by the way).......People on ESPN said it was Kyrie who was driving the bus in Cleveland(Shout out to that weirdo Rob Parker for that one)....

ESPN had the Celtics as the favorites to reach the finals.......

Somebody clearly has expectations

We cant let these dudes get away with revisionism
I don't know if I can believe anyone honestly thinks of Kyrie like that. I think there is some wishful thinking out there but the Celtics are 0-2 and it isn't a big deal. Especially with Haywards injury, there won't be much Kyrie slander if the Celtics don't go anywhere.

ESPN just has a weird obsession with LeBron and they dig in very deep on both ends to the point that LeBron haters think ESPN is on his nuts and LeBron fans think they're out to defame him.

They'll struggle to make the playoffs, depending on when Morris will be back. They're basically without two of their top-5 players, while trading out numerous pieces from last season.

Cavs
Bucks
Heat

Raptors
Wizards
Pistons

will probably all have better records than Boston.

Now that Gordon is out...do we push the reset button..meaning Kyrie although older is still surrounded and depends on younger guys ala his early days in Cleveland and this isn't really who he is or what he can be??? I think that's a better discussion...

reset button?

Celtics will develop the youngsters and be a 1st round exit or so

and then be super deadly next year

What's the issue? It's Kyrie/Horford, and Smart with a bunch of young bucks (who are talented yes, but also inexperienced). The Celtcs are missing two of their top-5 players, most teams would struggle in that same position too. Those squads I mentioned have either more talent and/or more experience/depth.

Cavs- Yes

Bucks- Tentatively yes

Heat- I would put favorable odds of them being better than the Heat. Miami missed playoffs two of the last 3 years. It took them playing them out their minds last year to even have a chance of making it.

Raptors- Yes...If the Raptors arent better than them then something has gone terribly wrong

Wizards- Yes. Continuity matters. Also reasonable improvement over last season should be expected

Pistons- No . I think the Celtics should be better than them
Both those teams either have more talent, and/or more experience/depth. What does Miami missing the playoffs two of the last three years have to do with anything? We're talking about their squad this season, not the makeup of their squad a couple of seasons ago. Pistons have a flat-out better starting 5: Jackson, Bradley, Johnson, Tobias and Drummond. Celtics aren't fukking with that right now (again, depending on when Morris returns).

In summary Kyrie is a franchise guy now. But he was also the franchise guy whether or not Hayward was healthy.

Will he get unfair criticism....OF fukkING COURSE BECAUSE THAT IS THE LIFE OF THE FRANCHISE PLAYER......

this was what he wanted so he has to roll with the punches.......

He will be better as the season progresses...but understand this.........the increased workload means something....not just extra shots..not just adoring fans and spotlight....

Fatigue, PR responsibilities, managing expectations of himself, protecting his teammates when they get criticized(YOU KNOW LIKE WHAT LEBRON USED TO DO FOR HIM)
So basically you're trying to turn this into some LeBron shyt - figures.

This thread is absolutely premature and reckless

But that never stops bullshyt hot takes when it comes to a certain small forward so I am here with the gasoline and flamethrower
What the fukk is wrong with y'all? Kyrie was the most important factor in helping your hero win a title in Cleveland, and you resort to some petty shyt like this? It really shows the true intention of a lot of y'all on this board.
