Kobe would want to keep Jerry West, knowing how much he respected those before him. If you do want to switch to a black player, I think Bill Russell is the best man for it.
I can dig it.

either way, moving this energy from Kyrie..
Melo and Stack in the comments as well

I think when switching the logo, you want to keep it as identical to the og...changing something that synonymous with your brand can have drastic effects

don't think any of the major NA leagues have changed their logos in decades if ever

NBA has never officially acknowledged that the current logo is Jerry West because they would probably have to pay him
Jerry West -- I Don't Get Paid ... For Being NBA Logo

That's why they never going to change it to Kobe because they would have to acknowledge its him and Vanessa isn't going to let them do it for free
Plus, MJ has already replaced the NBA logo on the jerseys, the first thing you see is the Jumpman when a player pops up on the screen

This should end the thread

from a sentimental perspective, it would be nice

but from a business perspective, no reason for the NBA to even consider it
