Are you obligated to abide by some rules. For example let’s say
rival gang catches you (assuming they don’t know you quit). You cannot rely on your previous gang for help. You have to deal with the rival set as a civilian now?

or do other gangs find out you quit and you are no longer a target for them?

Every hood has hard working people trying to survive every day. No matter how corrupt the country may be, if you partake action in gang activities you are the part of the problem. Sorry but "the president is crooked so Imma be crooked too" does zero good to the community you live in. If a gang member is so tough, go rob a rich millionaire and see what happens. All they do is ruin lives of decent folks.
