North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
Why does the West Coast need validation? And validation from WHO exactly? New York hip hop has been dead for years. The midwest has been dead. Texas and California are the only states that don't need the rest of the country to thrive.

Everybody not trying to sound like Atlanta... and truth be told, Atlanta aint doing nothing right now either.

There’s a reason the whole world has been deeply influenced by LA culture for so long, because it is its own world. Its authentic. No matter what you think about it, LA still has that maximum cool factor.

Sonically the music may not resonate with the masses on an industry level but, its still dope because LA nikkas don’t give a fukk and thats maximum aura in itself.

They couldn't even say RIP Drakeo cause of the politics at the show

All while his whole style is being jacked by the main headliner

Why would say RIP Drakeo in Inglewood of all places

Kendrick jacked his style on purpose as a fukk you to him :manny:

I heard a random song from some dude named G Perico in a IG reel. It was pretty good :yeshrug:
I have no idea why LA music is not being marketed and hyped up. Maybe it's politics, maybe it's influences that are outside of music like the black west coast population being displaced, iono
I find it hard to believe it's because there are no quality artists
We haven't even had any recent summer type songs from the likes of DJ Mustard or Roddy Rich

Some of the biggest artists today are from LA.. Kendrick, Tyler, Doja Cat, Alchemist, Yeat, etc.

People dont realize the world doesnt care about bing bong ching chong raps from former gang members who dont take the art seriously.

Stans were on the internet on some :whoo: shyt when Drake was talking about who bangs sets and how he’s out in LA, now they saying it’s corny for Kendrick, an LA artist, to promote LA culture at a venue in LA featuring only other LA artists.

For people outside of hip hop, they see LA as the mecca of hip hop

Dre, Snoop, Pac, Cube, etc. And then they put on people like Em, 50, Kendrick, etc. All superstars.

Nah, they're all seen as gangsta rappers first and foremost. Hip Hop and New York are too famous for LA to be mistaken as the Mecca of Hip Hop.

Aside from NYC and Chicago, I don't think any US city has been compared to Mecca and be taken seriously. LA is Hollywood, which is it's own trademark.
