edit: the jyst of my statement was, how is it any better (or more “hip hop”) if Mos freestyles entirely new material over Doom instrumentals in the name of Doom tribute while likely monetizing versus actually shining light on Doom’s craft? I wouldn't say "well known". I'm from the city and have been to shows and such. He isn't a factor.

if any mainstream "commercial" rappe did this the script would be flipped. people change the rules based off whatever "MC" then wanna gargle.

Mos did this while DOOM was alive tho. He's said many times that DOOM was his favorite MC he even made a video doing that same song. DOOM gave it his blessing and Mos never tried to pretend it was his song.
