"The Score" actually sold more albums worldwide then it did in the U.S. It was a huge Internationally LP.

The Score - 7x Platinum
Miseducation - 9x Platinum

Everyone should check out this documentary called "Life After Death" it follow's what Biggie's crew did after the album was released and he passed away:

Check out some Original Mixes from "LAD"

"Your Nobody Till Somebody Kills You" (OG) - They couldn't get the violin sampled cleared so they replayed it on the LP. Big actually sings the chorus on the original not Faith.

Biggie Smalls - ORIGINAL - Your Nobody - BIG sings - YouTube

"I Got A Story To Tell" (OG) - They couldn't get the harp sample cleared so they replayed it with a gutair on the LP.

[ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eW3fENtss3Q[/ame]

"Long Kiss Goodnight" (OG) featuring RZA and Capadonna - There 3 versions of the song. 1st version was an all Pac Diss, names called, whole 9 according to Lil Cease. Pac died and that version was scraped. This is version 2 and in it Rza and Capadonna are having a conversation with Biggie and talking sh!t through the record. The final version is what you heard on the album. Biggie kept some of the lyrics the same but turned the song to a subliminal out of respect for Pac's death. Little did he know fans would figure out the lyrics years later

Biggie says at the end of the song along with Rza and Capadonna talking sh!t: "F*ck that, I Was trying to be on some humble sh!t, but now it's time to toot my own horn, toot, toot motherf*ckin. I'm the nicest n!gga in the game it's time to face motherf*ckin facts n!gga. On the Lyrics side? See Me N!gga, Wordplay, See me, Fist Fights, See Me N!gga. I'm so sick of this Sh!t The only reason I ain't namin no names, cause I don't want to give you B!tchass n!ggas a chance to sell a few units" "Long Kiss B!tch - Rza" "Sweet as a Kiss B!tch - Capodonna"

9x Platinum shipped. It's still the highest selling Debut Rap album of all time and thank God cause Vanilla Ice "II The Extreme" had the record before at 7x Platinum.

The movie was about Biggie's crew and what happen after he died. It was never meant to be about Big.

Double LP's:

Disc 1 - 5 Million
Disc 2 - 5 Million

It's a package so 10 Million Disc are sold. Also when "LAD" and "AEOM" were released, Double LP were well over 25 bucks so the revenue grossed is very large. I don't see how an album with 2 CD's should only get credit for 1 CD sold, that doesn't make sense. You are asking the consumer to buy a package. Also this is not new. One of the Highest Selling Albums ever is a double LP by Pink Floyd called "The Wall". So if you think it was easy for Biggie to selling 5 Million Double Disc LP's for 24+ bucks? Why hasn't other double LP's from Wu Tang, Bone and others have gone Diamond? Selling a Double LP is very difficult.

breh... you don't have to try and break it down for me. You make it sound like I never opened a CD or vinyl album before. :russ:

It doesn't matter how many CDs or albums is in the pack or how much it cost. it's one album.

If Lil B put out an album called "Plat Push" tomorrow and it was 10 CDs bundled with one 5 minute song a piece on each disc and sold it for 15 bucks and 100k of his fans bought it....

would you give Lil B a platinum plaque?

Cause that's what you're saying.

Actually no that's not what I'm saying. Nobody said it wasn't "One album" but that One Album has 2 Disc therefor whatever it sells doubles cause you are getting more than one disc sold in that album. Also the Lil B analogy won't work cause to get the Double Album credit your album has to be a certain length. You can't just have 10 disc with 1 song and go Platinum selling 100,000 copies cause it won't make the lenth requirement. The bottom line is it's a packaged album. You are getting 2 disc there for if it sells 5, 10 Million Disc were sold in the package. Again I didn't make the rules:

Double album - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Also a lot of people don't know this but Pac didn't drop the 1st Double Hip Hop LP. It was actually Will Smith and Jazzy Jeff:

DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince were the first hip hop artists to release a double album, 1988's He's the DJ, I'm the Rapper which at eighty-five minutes warranted a double vinyl package but was edited by thirteen minutes to allow a single CD release. However, in 1996 2Pac's All Eyes on Me was released as being supposedly the first double rap album to ever be entirely of an original album format, and was one of the earliest double rap albums to have not been edited by thirteen minutes for a final release. A year later, Notorious B.I.G.'s Life After Death was released and it later became the first Hip Hop double album to be certified Diamond Platinum.

yes yes you're right. who am I to argue with a proxy for a wikipedia page.

keep on reading, cutting and pasting for daps, breh.

I only posted the link to give you an understanding of the rules for Double Albums. If you want more information just go to RIAA.com, it says the same thing. You can't just have a bunch of disc and it go platinum. Each Disc has to be a certain length. Also I don't cut and paste for Daps cause it's not that serious. People dap what they want. I post and if people like it, so be it, if they don't oh well. But I've never posted a single comment on this board for a rep or dap. I post for debate, opinion, learning and fun. But I do appreciate all those who's given me a rep or dap regardless.

homie, you're looking at a wikipedia page and telling us shyt like

:gladbron: "did you know there was a Pink Floyd album called "The Wall"!?

:gladbron: "did you know Will Smith has a double album!?

nawl, homie. we didn't know that. We didn't know ANY of the shyt you been cutting and pasting with the :gladbron: on your face since dude boosted your self esteem by saying you "knew your shyt".

:gladbron: Wikipedia says it's TWO CDs in the box! 1 CD = 5 Million and FIVE TIMES TWO IS 10 MILLION!!!

fukk outta here, duke. I just bought one album that was spread over two CDs, not two copies of the same album. I didn't buy an album twice.

It's not gonna sway my thoughts on an artist one way or another, but I feel like it demeans the accomplishments of an artist that legit sold gold or whatever when you'll give the same award to someone who sold 1/3 as them but had 36 tracks on 3 CDs.

No it makes sense. If you can get people to pay $25 for your "album" - and it happens to cost twice the price of a single disc album, it should count for sales certifications.

It's like Jigga said "you're single was 99 cents, mines was 4 bucks" :ooh:

Nah, when LAD dropped it was a frenzy, just like Forever. :whew:

Although, All Eyez On Me felt like the world had stop for Pac, the day that double disc hit store. :ohlawd:

Being a kid in the 90s, anticipating all those Hip-Hop classics, without hearing any leak songs, except for the single the radio played.:blessed:
