There is no time frame. It just depends on how serious he was about her and the type of person he is. If he doesn't take long to get over past relationships then a few months is fine but if he's the type to hold on to things then you should wait longer. If he's the one to end things then he'll probably be ready sooner than a guy that was dumped because he was probably preparing to leave for a while. But I think 2-3 months a good amount of time.
