These women are just trying to play it safe. They are making the assumption that because the guy they are interested in is acquaintances with someone they know there is less of a chance the guy is a dirtbag. Thats not true, but its what they are banking on. I just ran into that situation. A woman i been cool with for about a decade decided to try and get at a guy i invited to my wedding. She assumed because I was cool with the guy he wasnt shady. WRONG!

Question, how long before a acquaintance or friend gets a date?

I don't really think there is a time. I went to undergrad with my current boyfriend, but only hung out with him (in a large group) once during our senior year. I always knew of him though since we had mutual friends. Fast forward almost 4 years (we did not communicate in any manner in those four years), our mutual friend has a birthday get away and we both go. We hung out (in a group setting) for two days.

He seemed nice; he always had a good reputation in school so from there I considered him a candidate. If we lived in the same city at that time, we probably would have started dating immediately after that weekend. However, he didn't move near me until a few months later. We pretty much started dating after he moved within driving distance to me.

I wish girls and guys could all wear a status on themselves so we don't gotta waste time with one another.

- In a relationship
- don't bother me
- DTF
- not DTF but maybe

Haha...this is very true. That assumption might be wrong; however, it is nice to be able to check references (especially if you can get feedback on the guy without people knowing your intentions).

Yeah I started at the end of the thread and worked my way back:pachaha:
Pretty much. I like to date people that I've meet through school, other people, and etc.
^^^^^You already answered my question.
