Lots. Whether it was a teachable moment or learning experience - I received some type of value out of relationships with men that I have been with in the past or currently involved with (friendships, family, my father (teaching me about race/racial issues), relationships..) especially my blood brothers - they set the life defining moments, defined and shaped my view of the world, as a woman since I was a little girl. (I have actually had better interactions and friendships with men in my life, than I do with women bc of real simple shyt - they think or act different when they're with their own men - like jealousy or insecurity, they don't want me around their man or out of thinking their man would try something inappropriate or thinking i'm flirting if I'm talking - real dumb shyt involving men that would cause riffs with female friends at times, even my mother has felt more like a competition or her controlling temperament rather than mother/daughter bonding).
Yes, even the negative situations, have added value to my life.
But There was one man who I was involved with that I could say, I could have been really fukked up for life, in a bad way, like life altering/threatening way - locked up or caught up for real, bc of how he moved in the streets and his popularity; I was functioning off his fame, status and looks - local celeb type vibe. I was in my rebellious, stage - burned out. shyt is too complicated to get into but he was the only one where looking back - trauma shyt. That's about it - overall positive and receptive from men, in general. (disclaimer - I don't interact with any other race outside of my own, personally or socially, so my response is specifically black men, no non-black or white troll shyt, OP).
