how can you tell what another human being is thinking? certainty there are clues in some cases but all you really know for certain is whats in your own head. unless you are God or some divine being you can not see into the mind of another. all you know about someone else is what they choose to show you and from there you make assumptions.

protection is the admission of uncertainty and taking preventive steps to protect against the uncertainty. you aren't even willing to admit that the assumptions you've made on your life partner based on what you've seen may be right and may be wrong because to admit that is to admit the need to protect yourself against something you don't want to have to protect yourself against.
