Hate it but I think you're right. IMO Akechi was a whole bytch and it's likely his traitorous ass had Yasuke killed after Nobutada's suicide. Akechi had a rep of getting clowned on by Oda, so you can imagine how he felt about how his Lord would shyt on him but was homies with a former slave?
But since Japan's historical record-keeping was ass during that time it's hard to say what really happened to Yasuke and historians speculate what happened to him. Popular theories are that Akechi did spare him but sold him back to the Christians and then he was taken back to Western civilization, he went to fight for Hideyoshi, or he went back to the first clan he encountered and joined them in their battles.
