The only thing that I don't like about this signing is that Lakers may not have the balls to fire him if things go south in his first two years. Can't fire a Laker legend and all that. Wonder what Magic would say if it ever came down to that :mjpls:

so after at least 3 interviews, all he got was $17 mil for 4 years?....i'd be insulted if I were him.....not only that, can someone explain how coaches that have coached in the league before are getting this, but steve kerr got $25 mil and aint coached a day?....like I said, i'd be insulted if I were scott....

on a side note: he keep getting raw deals lately...he got the cavs, without bron; and he getting the lakers with an old kobe and no one else....

Lakers are turning into one of the worst franchises in the nba before our very eyes:banderas:

Overpaying for middling talent :banderas:

Can't get big name free agents to even take them serious :banderas:

Hire coaches that no one want's anything to do with :banderas:

Might be able to get that laker 5 game homestand ticket for less than 100 bucks in the next 2 years:banderas:

Both Bron and Melo took the Lakers serious or else they both would not have met with them.

The Lakers didn't overpay like other teams did with Isiah Thomas and Chandler Parsons giving them not just the money but all those years. Nick Young is only making 5 mil a year while Jordan Hill got 9 mil, it's on a 1 yr guaranteed contract. They got bargain deals with Boozer and Ed Davis. Got Lin for half of his contract, one year and got a 2015 1st rnd pick. All the while having cap space in next coming years.

This is B Scott's 4th stint as a coach. So it seems to me he hasn't had a problem getting a job so far in his coaching career.

that's not a raw deal at all, that's on him for taking the Cavs job before Lebron made his mind up. As for this gig, when you've been fired 3 times and had no success at all at your last gig, you've lost the opportunity to be selective and he should be happy he's getting $4M.

Yeah B Scott should of waited until he knew where Bron was going. If his finances were straight he could sat out a year waited for the Laker job opening in 2011. I always felt that was a dumb move by Scott, knowing that Phil was retiring in 2011. Maybe his pockets weren't right:manny:
