I think it was part Lacob's ego part JW wanting to join LAL right?

From what I read it was a bit of both. JW was starting to feel a little bored and wanted a new challenge. Lacob felt like the franchise was set for a while and didn’t feel like they needed JW as much so he asked him to either take a paycut or no raise. I can’t remember which one. Either way I think if the money was right JW would have stayed but with Lacob wanting to pay him less and JW wanting a new challenge it was a no brainer for him to leave.
