I dont care about all this talking they doing, it's a smoke screen to get other teams uninterested.
Plus they said since it was a single workout, so they couldn't really see his biggest strength which is his passing and court vision. He's a point guard not a PF rebounder or a knockdown shooter.
And they got enough tape to see what he does. Hell he was only at UCLA one year and got them back to being relevant while Fox went to a big named program

Last series showed how trash they really are and that IT pretty much carried them all year. I don't see IT being able to do that again so they need a big guard that can defend or score when he's on the bench.
Lonzo needs the ball to be most effective so playing alongside IT doesn't make sense. Dude is hella unselfish, led the NCAA in assists, plays fast af, pushes the ball whenever he cans, etc. He literally plays like a bigger, more athletic Jason Kidd
They did the exact same thing with D'Angelo Russell, Lakers 'not blown away' by Okafor or Russell , and ended up taking him.
Usually teams downplay a player they are looking into grabbing in order to throw off teams picking ahead of them.
