He's also like a "idk if this dude can even give you neutral impact" guy when he's out there. He got no lift or side to side movement, and I mean even less than dudes his age like breh mentioned above me. Love is still a fantastic rebounder, even in his 30s. He still got the outlet pass. Even DeAndre Jordan came in I believe that Lakers series and was an oop threat and played some decent defense. Idk what Boogie can really give you that's complementary (meaning without the ball).
That's kinda the curse of being a dude who had to be a black hole on offense for so long on bad teams. I don't know if he got a chance to show he could be more before he was cooked. Even in NOLA, he was point Boogie and was being involved in just about every non-AD action. It just went from him being that nikka to not really being anybody at all in a snap of the fingers
Great point. Cousins had some impressive seasons but even then he was a 45% scorer from the field (not great for a big) on 20 shots and 10 freethrows a game... with a 36% usage rate (peak Luka/Harden shyt)... but averaging more turnovers than assists. That's wild.
So basically an elite big off natural ability getting by on bully ball, but who wasn't a high percentage scorer, nor a great shooter, nor a reliable playmaker, nor consistent defender. Once the injuries happened and he had to be a slot role player... not totally surprising he struggled to reinvent himself.
