I can't speak for everyone, but to me he sort of took the coward way out (leaving because Dame was getting more pub than he was).

People say you can't blame him for going to the Spurs, but the Blazers could have been contenders if he stayed because more than likely we re-sign Lopez and Mathews.

They reached their peak with that squad last year and still weren't a serious contender

We added depth to the front line with Ed Davis and Mason Plumlee. Gerald Henderson would have been the backup SG instead of the starter. Our only question mark would have been SF.

He's already said he's going to resign. He only opted out to get a bigger max contract.

he's not gonna be the face of the spurs either. last I checked, they still have TP, duncan, and kawhi.

once duncan retires, TP will probably still be the face.
