I know I asked you this before the lottery. But if edwards and wiseman were the consensus top picks the bulk of the season why does it seem like edwards stock is going down. I got wiseman he didn’t play much and the league is changing.

but edwards seems like he was an expected top 2 pick this draft the whole time now I’m seeing him losing ground to ball.
Edwards stock is going down because other guys are coming up more than anything else. Plus Edwards' flaws aren't something he can really address in workouts or interviews. He can't go out and suddenly play a season's worth of at least average defense to get people off his back there. He can't finally having a winning season for once in his life as a basketball player. And to be fair, he was hyped up when Wiseman was gone and the college season really didn't have any other notable standout guys from big programs. Its always been a bad draft - but with all of the time off it leaves room for guys who DO put in work overtime or have lesser known flaws to get their stock up.

Also, the top 2 teams aren't even that interested in developing another SG right now and the Hornets would likely take Wiseman over Edwards 5 times out of 5.

I still don't see the it factor. In order to be an elite player you need half court skills like size up, hesi, dribble continuation etc. Melo has very little of those and every play seems erratic when I see him play.
He has all of that :what:

He’s just a streaky outside shooter and still developing physically as a finisher

He doesn't if you watch all the elite guards they control their dribble and balance. Melo gets bumped off to easily and picks up his dribble at the slightest presence of help defense. Lonzo has that same problem they play like rec league players.

honestly I am going to have to take the wait and see approach with him. I do see some of these things in him. But I am not all the way sold. Dude has one thing others don’t and that’s size but Is dude really a PG? I think he’s a SG.

Melo was out there throwing passes like magic johnson n shyt, his game is centered around facilitation he's gonna drive and kick and in a way where you really can't predict where df the ball is going cause he doesn't need to look. To me that's an elite level of skill for any player and one of the first signs of a good pg. He can dish the rock flat out and everything else is gonna come later. Got good handle, willing to rebound on traffic. Not sure if I can see him winning rookie of the year cause I don't think he's gonna get ja morant minutes but I'd definitely take him over edwards.

That's why I wouldn't start him right away. He's got the size and the court vision to be a great pg. It's the other skils he needs to add. Bring him off the bench right now and let Rozier start.

I was impressed he made those plays in his first NBA game.

Regardless of pre season ..shows confidence in himself x team.mates :yeshrug:

Looked more poised then kilian hayes in his first game :ehh:

It's his offense and shootin he gonna have to generate which will be his biggest issue , goin to have to fine a go to move

..:hubie:

Once he gets used to how athletic nba guys are he will start getting to the rim.

His jumper will be streaky this season, no doubt
