He's currently a 6'8 ball handler that can legitimately pass and create for others. I don't think he'll ever be as explosive as Lonzo, but he's already shown an ability to be crafty around the rim and finish better than his brother did at UCLA.

A PG with his length and playmaking ability deserves to be a lottery pick, but everyone knows the elephant in the room is his broken shot. If he can genuinely improve that aspect of his game the ceiling's high.
He's already made positive strides with that shot in year one :wow:

To anybody that takes him in the top 5. His game is not NBA ready. Lonzo had the best route to the NBA, high school state champion -> Won the pac-12 at UCLA and made the NCAA tournament -> starting pg on a young Lakers team. Melo's basketball upbringing was compromised because of Lavar and he didn't get to have the same path. He did that JBL thing, that I don't even think exists anymore, and played in Lithuania and Australia in the NBL where he put up pedestrian numbers against :mjlol: talent.

LaMelo is not a good scorer and was never a good shooter. He had that one game in high school where he scored 90+ points by not passing the ball as a point guard and everybody is saying he's the next Stephen Curry which was ridiculous as it was than as it is now. He is the product of the mixtape effect. Anybody will look good in a highlight reel.

Rookie point guards come into the league running. Especially big ones in the past 10 years. Tyreke Evans, Ben Simmons, MCW won ROTY in Philly, and etc. Most of them are athletic which is a must as a modern pg, Ja Morant is about to win ROTY, Derrick Rose and Russell Westbrook won MVP's as fast and acrobatic pgs, and etc. LaMelo is not athletic at all nor is he very quick, he is not beating any of those guys off the dribble.

The good shooting point guards in the NBA, such as Steph Curry, Damien Lilard, Kyrie Irving, etc, all can shoot off the dribble. LaMelo is not good at that and he definitely will be timid driving to the rim just like Lonzo did. One advantage he does have is being 6'7 and long. He can shoot over most point guards so if he gets a nice floater game he should be good. If I were him I would be watching a lot of Shaun Livingston tape because his runner/floater game was just beautiful. As a Nets fan it was amazing watching him and by the time he went to the Warriors he perfected it and won chips.

All in all, if a team like the Warriors draft him then its a win-win situation. But if a team is drafting him thinking he is a player to build around then those teams and their fans will be disappointed.

Ps: I want all you #BBB stans to bookmark this thread and up this when everything I say is playing out in the NBA.
What a fukkin idiot :russ:

I'll admit I was wrong as fukk. I didn't see him being this good this early. I'm genuinely happy for him though and that he's been able to keep his head on straight through all the BBB shyt.

:ufdup:You know you messed up right? He's about to tear the league up and get his first all star appearance. He would've made the all star if he was starting earlier last year.
