You could tell the young boy was legit back in middle school. I knew he was gonna see a star when I saw the little breh post up from half court and shoot a 3 at least two or three times.

I couldn't understand how folks were saying he wasn't gonna make it to the league. I mean even if you don't like Lavar, you gotta recognize talent when you see it.

His come up has been something really, he’s been evolving with each year.

Probably the most exciting player they ever drafted.

Not yet.

The Truth
Dude already had 3 rookie player of the month awards before this award. And let’s not forget the NBL awards
Yep

Was ROTY in the NBL too

Thing was, it was apparent when dud was on the bench in the beginning of the year too. Aside from his first game, the whole team looked different whenever he got on the floor.

The pace of the team changed. His teammates were looking for him to get the ball because he got everyone on the floor, they played at a faster, more efficient pace, players moved more, he put pressure on opposing defenses, etc.

Dude literally looked like he had the Floor General badge out there against NBA players. He needs to improve physically, offensively, and defensively but all that can be developed. He had the IQ, ball handling, composure, and passing ability of someone thats been in the league for years. Stuff you can’t teach and stuff other players gravitate towards.

If they had the talent around them, a competent coach, and especially never got hurt, they would’ve been in the playoffs

No other rookie could say that

Disrespect? Melo had the hornets as a top 5 seed before the team collapsed with injuries. The only reason Edwards was even in the conversation is because melo got hurt

Got a couple of his rookie basketball cards cause I know he is gonna be a superstar in the near future. If he doesn’t win a championship he’s for sure gonna be a all star and rack up a ton of stats and awards. He’s got a long way to elevate his game even more even though what he’s doing now is good enough to win ROTY.

Poor Ant-Man ..Another casual crowd hero hit with a rough L to start his career...:francis: Hopefully this will teach him early that being an inefficient chucker that doesn't impact the game outside of "PPG" just ain't gone cut it when it comes to high level recognition... Thankfully he improved as the year went along but he's going to need to improve his facilitating and defense if he's going to be the kind of player I believe he already may think he is

Great season for Melo ... Went from Coli Basketball Experts pontificating on how his "bad influence" father was ruining his career to running away with the prestigious acknowledgement as one of the best young players in the entire NBA... :wow:

Durant started out the same way.
