New York tenant laws are pretty wild. If you’re trying to evict someone, it could take like a year to finally get them out.
Same in LA. I used to rent a place where my neighbors (mexicans) were literally 8 deep in the house and refused to pay rent. Landlord had to use courts and ended up taking 8 months to get them out.

RIP to the landlord.

But I'm surprised that there hasn't been more of a pushback to these landlords, developers, real estate folks and etc from more tenants with the crazy prices folks are paying for rent to live in nyc and elsewhere in the country. At least have a fukking condo or a house if you paying that much. Seems like NYC is full of smart dumb folks

Gotta take a bench jury if that selection process start looking funny. At worst, its manslaughter but a great lawyer could get it thrown out as self defense.
