You don't need to do this with cats because they won't butcher children over food aggression either way.
Another indirect win for #CatSet without lifting a paw.

I got my dog when he was grown. so I didn't have to deal with that puppy bullshyt. I have a crate, but I barely used it. I work from home, so I was able to get him on a going outside schedule pretty easily.

also, I only feed my dog once a day. I used to feed him twice, but that was causing accidents.

@boogers Is right and the rest of you should probably take some training/socializing classes.

You don't feed your dog in it's crate. The crate is like their "room" other than the designated "place" that they go if you give the command "place".

You're actually adding to the food aggression here.

Stop pretending y'all know what you're talking about because you raised your Labrador some way and think all dogs are the same.

cant wait for it to rip his hand off when it gets older. idiot doesnt know the first thing about #droolset

its kennel is its safe place. you dont feed him in there, you feed him in an open space. hes reacting that way because this dipshyt snatches him up when hes trying to eat in a place hes supposed to feel safe. he probably riles him up in there regularly so he can 'correct' whatever behavior the dog is doing. idiot.

"alpha" training is bullshyt and gets dumb men like this mauled regularly

hes actually teaching this dog to be aggressive

You're wrong bro... he's actually correct here.

This is why the term "alpha" is overused.

The term "pack leader" it's much more apt

You don't feed the dog in the crate.

What he did aside from feeding it in the crate was fine but the food dish shouldn't be there, attached to the crate.

How about leave the dog alone while he's eating.

Our dog used to do this to us as kids and my dad said, "leave him alone while he is eating. You don't like ppl bothering you when you eat"

Oir dog was super protective of us but he didn't like being bothered while eating.

Now if they snap/bite at you that's a different story.

Food aggression should definitely be addressed in the puppy stage FOR ALL BREEDS

And that's the problem, a lot of people think that this is just a bully breed problem when that shyt will happen with a Chihuahua or a Poodle it just so happens that you can just punt those lil dogs if they attack you.

The same food aggression will happen with a St. Bernard or a Cane Corso or a Greyhound, so it has nothing to do with the breed and more with correction of a behavior that should not be.

It doesn't matter who puts their hand in the dogs dish THE DOG SHOULD NOT EVER SHOW FOOD AGGRESSION.

It shouldn't show aggression at all in any case or scenario but people tend to foster behaviors in dogs that should not be tolerated and then when it bites someone it's "the breed".

No it's the OWNER. That's the issue.

I get it breh, but the dog has a right to be an individual. It's not a slave.

Let them eat in peace for those 5 mins. If they exhibit aggression like when you try to give them a treat or something, then yeah put them in their place.

That's not how it works bro

A dog is not a human being

Now that doesn't mean you should abuse dogs at all. Never the case.

But a dog needs to understand it owns nothing, it is not the pack leader of any pack in any situation ever.

It exists simply to exist and to follow the commands and instructions of the pack leader.

And to be fair the dog will be happier that way because everything else will likely confuse it and a confused dog will do whatever it wants, which can be something benign like pissing where it's not supposed to or something extreme like biting the face off of a child.

I grew up with dogs all my life breh, you can assert your dominance in other ways and they "get it" to behave properly across the board.

Granted I never had a pit and NEVRR WILL. But I had Rottweilers.

I had a German Shepard growing up and we raised it since it was a puppy, it never snapped at me during a feeding.

Pitbulls are monsters.
