:snoop:

And he still lost his job to a severely lesser talented Tyler Watts and only ended up with the job when it was obvious that Tyler Watts was abysmal.......

Zow didn't do himself any favors by his shytty play after upsetting us in 99 though. He was always inconsistent but it did piss me off Dubose really wanted that sorry fukk Watts to get playing time :smh:

How his ass, Dubose, blew that 2000 season is BEYOND me.

Stop changing shyt up, I said SABAN will play them if he wants to, he has enough power to do that.

Oh, and Walter Lewis started under the Bear with NO problems. Vince Sutton, Danny Woodson , Andrew Zow started, and most recently Star Jackson, Phillip Sims, and Blake Sims as backups. I hope Sims can improve his passing so he can start but I don't see that happening.

That was a PR move son......The rest of the starters you named look like a wiki list or something cause if you saw these guys play, you knew that they did not start consistently, or only started briefly......Zow became the starter only when it was glaringly obvious he was Bama's best option....but initially, they tried everything they could to get Watts on the field in front of him

That shyt was perplexing...He went from 10 -3 and SEC champs to 3-8 the next year with pretty much the same team....I can't remember any major injuries that may have happened that year

No you didnt. ANd you called me a jungle monkey. It's no way u are black

I called you that. And I'm Black and proud breh.

I prolly went too far, but I just get tired of folks talking like experts on things they don't know about. That's the root of ignorance.

Is Alabama a white institution with racist crackas? Hell yeah. But neither Bear Bryant nor Nick Saban "refuse to play or recruit Black QBs." Both of them dudes desire to win more than pleasing the klan-minded MFs from the red elephant club. I can't speak for the rest of them coaches. Zow got done dirty because Dubose and Franchione were pretty much powerless over their own football teams...and I wouldn't doubt of one of them were racist ass white folks themselves.

Bottom line: Nick Saban and Bear Bryant do and did what he wants. You think a racist head coach would start Walter Lewis in the early 70s? You think Nick Saban's gonna let booster tell him what to do? HELL naw.

Sutton & Woodson did start periodically, David Palmer also played a little bit in a Wildcat type formation. Franchione also screwed Zow out of the starting position in 2001 until he showed out in the Iron Bowl. Would you have started Star Jackson over Greg McElroy? Or Phillip Sims over AJ McCarron?

Ok, let's say it WAS a "PR move" on Bear's part like you're baselessly claiming.

How does that prove Bear Bryant was racist if he was tryin to sell folks on the idea of Black integration and Black QBs?

You're gonna have to do better than that.

People calling Bear Bryant racist need to do their damn research. That man did more for Black players in this state than any other white college.

This was the same dude that put USC on the schedule to prove to the president that it was time to integrate.

Remember, none of that is supposed to matter because other schools get more Black starters that Alabama.

I'm still waiting on folks to tell me who were the Black starters at the other schools I listed........

I am now certain that you are getting information off the internet....You're not old enough to have seen Danny Woodson cause if you were, he wouldn't be on that list.......I don't even think he played the full season in 1990...And then I think he got benched in 1991 for JAY fukkING BARKER.................Man GTFOHWTBS.....Danny Woodson>>>>>>>>>>>>Jay Barker

LMAO @ Palmer playing the "wildcat formation" That's a lie......He played the "QB" position when Jay Barker would stall on drives....

And yes...I would have started Star over Greg McElroy.....I saw Sims and AJ in their spring games and they looked pretty even to me except AJ looked more calm in the pocket

They fell off for two reasons...

1. Dubose wasn't as good of a recruiter as everybody thought he was, and a few of his best recruits didn't pan out.

2. Dubose got caught fukkin his secretary and resigned after the Southern Miss game in 2000. That took the wind out of the season.

:laff: :dead: LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

nikka......I lived in Alabama for over 30 years.....My Great Grandparents are from here...And I have had a relative and family friends to play for "The Bear" And yes, he was bigoted......Maybe not the worst bigot, but he was one...

Get them CBS TV special sentiments out of here....cause that's where you got them from.......The Bear was trying to sell Alabama on integration by scheduling USC? :wow: Yall a fool on this internet for real.....

And you would have never won a championship because you would be to worried about starting a dude you like over starting the better player. :beli:

Star Jackson was known to be slaw by everybody breh. We watched this dude in practice and in the A-day game and he just couldn't make the throws. Now, Sims looked good in practice, but AJ was just better against the blitz.
