I was telling a coli poster a week or so ago how dangerous Nickerson Gardens used to be when I was a kid. Cops didn't even roll through there.
Now its heavily gentrified... but if it were to return to its deadly roots with all those cacs in the heart of it now, that would be hilarious to see.

Yep. Thats what I was talking to someone about last week.

In the mid-1990s, Nickerson Gardens was 95% black. By 2004 it was 35% black.

It was targeted for gentrification just like the areas downtown that used to be slums, now they are lofts (near LA Live/Staples Center).
Thats why when they show the aerial cam of Lakers games they only show one angle and it cuts off. Cause if they pull too far back you can see skid row right next to all those expensive cac owned gentrified buildings.

For those that don't know cause they don't stay in LA... this is Skid Row. Its like 3 blocks from the Staples Center.
One of the worst homeless situations in the world.

But 3 blocks west of it is this decadent shyt. That skyscraper in the picture looming over the staples center where the Lakers/Clippers play is a giant glass hotel for the extremely rich.
