Laptop help--

laptop no longer responds to charger.. charger works/outlet works..

tried wit laptop battery and without...

already tried the bowl/bag of rice trick.. didnt work

any suggestions?

I've actually had this happen to me twice where I dropped the computer like off the side of my bed or couch while the charger was plugged into it...it stopped taking a charge....ended up being the port that the charger fits into was broken inside the laptop...so that may be it

it sounds like the power jack board.


i just bought a dc power jack board ebay for my moms for $5 about 2 months ago.

Yeah this is the only way to fix it. Had this happen to me and paid about $8 the the power jack board on ebay

installed new part-- still nothing

ended up ripping the keyboard from the motherboard too

This might be a stupid question, but how do you know the charger still works? Did you try it with another computer? Only reason I ask sometimes ppl think the charger still works because the LED light is still on

You gotta resolder the connections inside more than likely. What is the model of your laptop?

This might be a stupid question, but how do you know the charger still works? Did you try it with another computer? Only reason I ask sometimes ppl think the charger still works because the LED light is still on

good idea, or try a different charger.
back to the rice...maybe you didn't use enough.
