You’re both right but I think it’s fair to say in 2023 the legacy of that album hinges almost entirely on Nas’s verse. Just for perspective I went to a Large Pro show before the pandemic and he didn’t even perform Looking At The Front Door but he did perform BBQ with Joe Fatal and it got the biggest response of the night by far.

Thats exactly what i’m saying.

You’d think the word “Memorable” would have tipped people off

That's not true.

So Nas buzz from Live At The BBQ didn’t lead to Faith Newman telling MC Serch she’s been looking for Nas for over a year? It didn’t lead to Faith not letting Serch leave the office until a deal was in place for Nas? That deal didn’t lead to the creation of Illmatic? Ilmatic doesn’t have three Large Professor placements? Illmatic’s lead single wasn’t Halftime, produced by Large Pro? Ilmatic’s second single wasn’t It Ain’t Hard To Tell, produced by…LARGE PRO?

Please explain to me where i’m wrong. I’m always open to be corrected if i am INDEED wrong but last time I checked the story of Illmatic and Large Professor’s role in it was pretty cut and clear.

Like I said Large Pro benefited just as much from his affiliation with Nas as vice versa. If Large Pro puts ANYBODY else on Live At The BBQ his career never benefits for the better just as Nas’s wouldn’t.
