He'd be Kevin Love on roids...people dikk ride dirk and he's slower, much more of a defensive liability, less of a rebounded and can't pass half as well.

At 6'9 220 plus a great defender bird would be killing in the league. He'd be like an improved version of melo

this is a perfect example of the Jordan influenced NBA era we are still in where athleticism and fluidity are so highly thought of that a stiff like Larry is assumed to be inferior. Instead of looking at a 6'9 forward that could stretch the floor and pass like Lebron. Not to mention great post moves and tough as hell.

And I dont even wanna see Dirk and Larry Bird in the same sentence :childplease:

Larry could handle the ball and pass..

I saw Larry drop 49pts on Clyde Drexler in 92 with a broke back
:wow:

I remember watching that game live on NBC. He collapsed, left the game, came back and won it in overtime...
I hated the Celtics though :stopitslime:

larry would ball out in todays league....things that translate regardless of era is post game, wet jumper, and defense.
larry legend had them all, he wasnt a spot up shoot he could shoot of the dribble, spotting up, outta the post plus he was 6'9

All this shyt in here about Dirk man Dirk is basically a better version of what Bird would be if he played today. Both Dirk and Love would put up Wilt like numbers if they played in the 80's.

Im not saying Bird would be garbage but he definitely wouldnt be the dude he was in the 80's. Theres alot more SF's in the league now that would slow him down.

Oh and :deadrose: at Bird being better then Carmelo. Could u imagine the numbers Carmelo woulda averaged if he played in the 80's? 26 points and 9 rebounds now is like 35 and 14 in the 80's :stopitslime:

Lets dead this thread :scusthov:

in a league where gordon hayward drops 16 ppg :beli:

he'd be getting killed on defense something serious tho. he was always a trash defender in the slow 80's. he'd be a bigger liability.

He'll hide it in the zone.....kind of like Dirk....But there's not a huge difference in athleticism between the starting 5 of 80s teams and current teams..

Where the athleticism comes into play is on the bench, and today's league is just deeper 1-8 athletically....But if you compare just the starting 5, its not a huge difference
