Respect the good & understand the bad
Y’all ever get the feeling that Larry June is biting Curren$y or at least he copying his career moves?

People call him a dom/le$/curren$y clone, but I don't really think he cares. He's about his business and knows what the markets want right now. "It ain't whatcha do, bish it's how ya do it" and he's good enough at his craft for any of us to really give a shyt.

And what’s wrong with more music in that lane? :blessed:

He sounds too different to be a biter plain and simple. The music in general does not sound the same, completely different vibes, although the subject material may be the same, but all rappers rap about similar shyt.

Career move-wise, maybe so, but I think more people should follow this blueprint anyway, the only other artists that follow this blueprint are Griselda. The producer/artist tandem album drops are good for everyone involved, and the quantity of music that he puts out is important for this stage of his career. When you got a lowkey buzz independent with no label like this I think it's better to go this route rather than hide for a year and then drop another 13 songs for the year and be done.

Eventually Curren$y, Gibbs, and them did join a label but I have no doubt they are artist-friendly deals so if he finds that appealing I see no reason why he wouldn't copy their career moves.

Was sleeping on this. Fraud been putting out consistent fire, especially this year
I been sleeping on Fraud in general. He just looked like a goofy surfer kid to me, and I knew him from Saab Stories with Action Bronson which I didn't love (although I did always like the Bird on a Wire beat). I liked Cigarette Boats, but I just never went out of my way to check for his production. I figured he was just a knockoff of other producers I liked more than him.

But man, this year he's got my attention. I have to hold that L.
