I love basketball, but I love the idea of not having to work even more. You give me millions and the only reason I'll keep performing at the best of my abilities is so I can sign another max contract, the second I can't get another max contract is the day my career falls off hard. I'd be coming into training camp 50lbs over my playing weights and shyt, pulling up from 40ft and just making a mockery of it all.
A lot of the all time greats in the 4 major American sports didn't have the luxury that these dudes have today. They had second jobs in the off season and no freedom(teams literally owned your ass). Larry Sanders getting paid millions to be a fukking rim protector is a slap in the face to the OGs who put in work for his ungrateful ass to get paid to play a fukking game. Oscar Robertson must be reading this with the biggest :wtf: look on his face.

Could make a move on Hassan Whiteside, surprised you all didn't go after him to begin with :lupe:

The deadline to guarantee his deal is in a few days.

The Heat need to keep him. He would be a great pickup for Cleveland, incredibly cheap too, missed opportunity for them.

It's not that serious tho. I'd play in Alaska if the money was right. Why do nikkas get rich and stop trying?

He got too comfortable. This happens to rich people when they forget/never knew what it was like not to have money.

If he retires now, then after a few years of fukkin that money off he'll suddenly wanna play again.

He'll probably end up like Rolondo McClain. Retire, hit the real world, then remember "hey, people will pay me millions of dollars to play a game"

Maybe, but then again I am reminded of the STL Rams C Jason Brown who retired at 29 to farm and give his crops away to the needy.... some dudes are just built different

I think its a Ricky Williams situation, because dude has failed 2 or 3 drug tests for weed and was always adamant about not stopping regardless of the consequences from the NBA
I've never smoked weed in my life, if that shyt is strong enough that nikkas would give up millions to indulge it you can keep it.

The money those athletes back than made was still decent...but also remember the NBA wasn't as big as it is same with most other sports...Don't compare yesterday with today.....Jim Brown was dominate and up and retired just because you can play a sport doesn't mean you love it.

Im sure it goes a bit further than that, but it seems to be part of the equation
