I thought you were saying you flat out can't manually power down. I get what you're saying now. The power down is a function of the software and not the hardware, so if you freeze the button doesn't work.

I've had mine go into rest mode on it's own but never freeze completely.

You sure you couldn't force power off with the 10 second button press?

at one point my ps4 didnt recognize i had a cd in it and it wouldnt eject for a long time

at one i couldnt click on anything on my dash board and had to turn the console off manually and basically whipped my hard drive out




why does sony still have that trash in place where u cant turn off the console manually? with the xbox i press the light and the console goes off fine, with ps4 if turn it off manually i risk deleting the all my saved files,
