I'm going in two weeks..first time going in the fall :/ but I did just see that The Marquee at the Cosmo has a winter pool party

I'll post in here shortly. Let me tell you about Vegas. Lived here for 4 years. I'm about to turn 28.

This ia gonna be multiple posts.
So...Im going to tell this from the perspective of a comedian/host perspective from the east coast. That's what I am. I moved here on nov 5 of 2011. It was about 80 degrees when I showed up. I haf a few friends, newbies since August, that let me pay next to nothing and a part time job already lined up. As soon as landed, I went to fatburger. Then i saw my room. I slept on a deflated air mattress until february until i saved enough to get my own shytty apt. Before that, i went to an improv show weekly to perform. It was called the Neon Venus. Infested with bed bugs and about a 2 minute walk (same block) from Dino's. That's how it all got started for me here...

I deferred my admission to UNLV at first and caught the 217 bus to henderson. The other days I ate one egg and a handful of spinach. I moved here with 53 dollars. I discovered tall boys and 24 hour gas stations. I fell asleep to the sound of mccarren. I lived on thr south side of paradise and sunset. I was really into blow at the time and with my little check, i would somehow cop a g for 45 and it was fishscale. All i did was write and play guitar. Until the improv show. I would be a beast. Id catch a ride or hit the SDX to 4th street. I loved tiffanys (now called Vickie's) for their diner food. At the show, i did exceptionally well and was encouraged to do stand up.
By exceptional, i mean great..for faggy ass improv.
The show stopped paying sp i quit. I was begged to come back. And if any of YOU are reading this...i still laugh about how you couldnt do it without me. Oh, white people...
There were p*ssy cat dolls and a psuedo jackson 5 kinda group that would guest. Shout out to New Day. I see you out here. I also met a dude that has gone on to be on foxxhole at his first* vegas gig. 4 years later I saw Kris Shaw headling at sls for bonkers. Literally the whole marquee led photoshoot shiz. Go see him after you look him up. Do that now.
After i quit improv i started doing comedy after i got done washing cars.

I'd rather do this than the whole party,drinking ,sex thing. call me a lameYeah breh Red Rock is within decent driving distance and has some really cool desert landscape and views. If you're more into the mountain thing Mt. Charleston is nearby too- great views of the stars away from the city lights plus hiking
If you really want to drive (and a lot of people do this actually) the Grand Canyon is close enough for a day trip, and so is Great Basin National Park. There's TONS of helicopter tours of the GC coming out of Vegas all the time. The desert has its own beauty breh

I only went to Vegas once 15 years ago as a family outing. I was underage at the time so I didn't get the Vegas experience like the adults.
I had fun exploring the city though, I just couldn't do much being underage.
