People with that kind of money don't think the same as regular people. They've got mansions and boats and gold-plated toilet paper holders. Lexus has marketed this car towards those kinds of people.
Cars like the ES and IS are marketed to everyday people where they are up against BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Infiniti, Acura, etc.

They were foolish to even consider turning a profit off of it, but it is a fantastic car.

I'm interested to see what the price will do as the years go by. Not the first or last great car that was horrendously overpriced
