Common British/Welsh/Scottish names like Williams, Jones, Smith etc., are very common amongst black Americans since most of us had ancestors that were enslaved by early arriving English/Scottish people.

Most whites, especially outside the South are recent arrivals compared to us and they often have last names black folks don't have.

Weren't many, if any, Greek/Polish/Italian etc., slave owners...so of course you're not going to see Rashad Stamos, DeAndre Krzyzewski or Jamal D'Antoni......more like Rashad Smith, DeAndre King and Jamal Davis.

Some blacks had ancestors enslaved by non English/Gaelic (Scottish and Irish) speaking people, like Germans. You'll see brehs with names like Weber or Wagner. Probably no Eichmann, Braun or Mueller though.

My own last name is unique.

But I’ve never met a white person with the name Washington, Johnson, Williams, Jenkins.

For real.....George Washington was the last white person in history to have his surname. We dont know anything about his (fully white) kids he had with his formaly white wife :ohhh: .

But he had a ton of kids with black female slaves and have a ton of black people with his surname :mjpls:
