Two families in my city are the Whiteheads and Stackhouses. Outside of Jerry I don’t any Stackhouses. There was an R&B group in the 90’s The Whitehead Bros. and also McFadden & Whitehead but I’ve never met anybody else with that last name.
I’ve also never met Ratchfords I wasn’t related to

Chuck D's name is Carlton Ridenhour. That is true. I never met a black person, or anyone else, with the "Ridenhour" surname.
I know some Chavis’ in Lumberton, NC. They’re Lumbee.Cozarts are in Mississippi. His people are definitely from there.
Some of the earliest black american families surnames were Chavez. They anglicanized them to Chavis.
So if you see alot of Chavises, they were originally Chavez but it was of Portuguese origin not Spanish.
I went to church with a Chin back in Mississippi. I’ve rarely come across a Townsend(my last name). Robert Townsend is my cousin. I gotta do some research, but I’m more than likely related to the tennis player Taylor Townsend. On my mama’s side, they are Gavin’s and Ratcliffs. Through research, I found most Ratcliffs were in East Texas, and a lot of them spelled it Radcliff. There are aframs (they had no connection to chinese/chinese-jamaicans) with the last name Chin/Chinn![]()
