Mavs won the championship last year, and were on fire, them nikkas was shootin' like 40% from 3 in the 'offs. OKC is gearing up to looking like they are winning the championship. You guys are talking like they lost to the Warriors or the Sixers or some sh*t. Their is a difference between not beastin' and not showin' up to play. Artest didn't beast. Gasol didn't show up to play.

Russell is average 21.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 5.6 assists

Durant is average 27.8 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 4.2 assists

Kobe in '10 averaged 29.2 points, 6 rebounds and 5.5 assists

Gasol in '10 averaged 19.6 points, 11.1 rebounds and 3.5 assists

And these are just stats, Russell's penetration in the paint is vital to this teams success. Let's not revise history and act like Gasol was carrying any team with his play. :childplease: Y'all talking like he was Shaq doing 30 and 15. :russ: Gasol is an ALL STAR. He is SUPPOSED to do 20 and 10. He averaged 12 points this year, that's too low as a starting player. The combination of Gasol AND Bynum not showing up killed the Lakers chances.

When Gasol was playing like an allstar in 09 and 10, the Lakers won. When he wasn't playing like an allstar the last two playoffs, the Lakers were sent out quickly. According to the logic you are using for Westbrook/Durant, that makes Gasol the catalyst.

No less than Westbrook has done without Durant. Why are you going to go and argue against your own logic?

I didn't say Gasol didn't matter. It's a team sport, all players matter. Sh*t, Artest hit a series winning shot. The Lakers can win without Gasol, but they can't win with only 12 points in 35 minutes from a player who is a no show on the defensive end!. And the Lakers made it to the semifinals the last two years, they didn't get sent out quickly :childplease: When I said Westbrook might just be more important than Durant, I meant that I think OKC without Durant is still a very good, and very competitive team. I think OKC without Westbrook doesn't go past the first round. Just my .02

When you say that the Thunder can be stopped if you stop Westbrook, that is true. I just don't agree with stretching that to say he's the most valuable player. If Durant gets shut down, they aren't going anywhere either. shyt, even if Harden gets shut down, they probably don't go very far.

1) Since when can the Lakers win without Gasol? They didn't win shyt before he got there and haven't won shyt since he fell off.

2) If Gasol doesn't have a monster game 7 in the Denver series the Lakers don't even make it far enough to be destroyed by OKC and lose in the first round to the fukking Nuggets.

You simply cannot make the argument that Westbrook is somehow the most important player for OKC because they go as he does and then deny that the same is true for the Lakers when its actually much more true of Gasol. 100% transparent stanning.
