I would take a last of us sequel only if it was a prequel of sorts showing Joel surviving on his own right after his daughter dies. Otherwise it would have to be a completely different main character. The first game ended perfectly imo

Basically Sony has plenty of franchises that sell. Uncharted, God of War, GT and TLOU I think are the best selling franchises that sell at least 5 Milli per iteration. The other games (judging from past sales) sell 2-4 million a game. I hate to bring M$ into this but you see where i'm going.
