Do tell us, what are we missing?
The government purchasing health insurance for people at an ever increasing rate from parasitic insurance companies...
The exploitation of the young and healthy

Reinforcing the attachment of healthcare to work
The fact that govt. created the problem and the ACA does nothing to fix it
The co-ops are failing
Premiums are going up
and so on or so on... the mandate does bother me most but lets not try to reduce the problem down to just that. The ACA is horrible legislation all the way through....

What im getting from you is that you want these 50,000 people insured at any cost... I simply disagree with everything about that.

Heres The CBO report stating why a partial repeal would be worse than a Full Repeal
https://www.cbo.gov/sites/default/f...17-2018/reports/52371-coverageandpremiums.pdf
Some one asked why not leave the good stuff or work around it or fix it...

You think a mandate is so onerous that it should be repealed outright, without a replacement, even if it means 50,000 individuals will die due to a lack of coverage.
I'll bite here though...
Yes, I do value freedom and individual autonomy more than the 50,000 people who you say will die should our freedom of choice not be infringed upon...

The reality is that the market CAN'T provide viable access to all citizens. The basic premise of providing health care to all, including the less fortunate is contrast to how the free market works.

Name one free market industry that provides the same, or at least comparable, quality of product to the rich and the poor, and that is also equally accessible to both populations. The Free Market is about profiting from demand. And considering the importance we place on our own life and health, you can profit more by overcharging people who can afford and disregarding the poor, as opposed to the alternative.

This was evident before Obamacare... or are we forgrtting that at some point it didn't exist and the health care market was trash?

Obamacare did nothing to fix this problem... its literally society caving to insurance companies in return for broader coverage of the populace.

Fix?... No
Mitigate?... Yes

I don't think anyone is arguing that it was the final solution. But it's closer to "right" than what we had in place before. Furthermore, part of the reason the ACA isn't seeing the results we want is still because of the free market. In an attempt to keep profits steady or increasing, insurance companies up the premiums to cover the cost of providing fair coverage to the general population. Let's not even discuss the shady practices of the pharma companies that also drove up premiums.

In reality, the indiviual mandate itself is a means to mitigate the affects of health insurance industries operating in the free market but still providing services to the uninsured. But with your point of view, I'm sure you'd also be okay with not providing health care to people who can't afford the medical procedures they need, even if they have some crappy insurance, let alone the uninsured.

And this is from someone who works in Benefits Administration.
