I dont know about other latin countries , but music genres that come from the Caribbean like salsa...will of couse have African influence.
Since many African slaves were brought to the Caribbean before anywhere else in the new world.

They got some nice beats to freestyle to too. I think there's more variety now, compared to like 15 years ago.
