Puerto Ricans and Dominicans are as African as African Americans so of course they hold up better. I don't know why anyone would equate Puerto Ricans and Dominicans with Mexicans simply because they all speak Spanish. Dominicans have more in common with Haitians than they do with Mexicans.

Where you get that from? Dominicans are black but most of Puerto Rican ancestry is European. They only have like 10% African ancestry.
