I know it's hard to believe Young Jedi, but there once was a time when people didn't have
a decide that recorded things with them 24/7. But it was at a practice session (Spree went to practices).

Matter of fact - around that same time, if you received a phone call from someone and you weren't at home,
you may have had a small box that moved on your belt which had the number of the person who tried to call you.
Then you had to go outside of wherever you were at, and they may have had a dingy phone on the street you
could use to call that number...that is, if you had a quarter.

So by your logic, Iverson was heavily influenced by Rodman because Rodman really was the first NBA player that was tattooed down. But, we all know that's not true. Rodman's clean shaven, no tattoo having, corporate model teammate on the Bulls was Iverson's influence. Just give it up man.

rodman didn't have that urban swag in his prime. his first wife that sold his jerseys on history channel was white. Rodman was a rockstar, like the black version of charlie sheen. Rodman was rock&roll with carmen elecktra and pam anderson types. Rodman was more Rick James than Kid N Play!!!

Culturally Iverson obviously had a bigger influence but Spree was a beast and played with more heart than almost everyone, that's why the NY fans loved him. He put the Knicks on his back in the 99' finals, his performance in game 5 was one of the best I have ever seen.

One of the first players I've seen rocking cornrows was Rashad Philips around 97

Iverson was the first in the NBA though.

btw Warriors Spree >> Knicks Spree

it's shame that Spree, Webber, and Tim Hardway didn't play together longer :mjcry:

Rashad was an Iverson clone, all the way down to his game. I thought he got the braids cause of AI too. Iverson did have them in 97.
