That's pretty much the "default setting" of what the world think it means to be black.

That's what happens when "the hood" , "the ghetto", "the streets" becomes your main representation.

Our collective image is beyond destroyed.
shyt look at run of the mill I gotta ask my manager to take a 30 minute break ass nikkas be talking about snitching and being real.

A large portion of the people who relegate themselves to "real nikkas" and "bad bytches" do so because subconsciously they think it's "what it really means to be black". Similar to that Jadakiss thread where his family was "normal" and middle class but he still wanted to be a "real nikka".
We’ll look at how ppl reacted to the thread and him being from a middle class family

It’sa cultural issue

Should we exterminate the black race? I take it it's your plan of action

Broad from Columbus Ohio like Bow Wow lmaoo. Went to high school in the suburbs of Atlanta and now she think she country lmao. I respect her for betting on herself and not signing with JD even though she won the competition

I'm literally from the same exact background, both the born in Ohio and went to school in atl suburbs aspect and i sound like MBJ when i talk.

My accent when I’m talking to my friends and family is different from when I’m in a more professional environment. You can still tell I’m from the south, but it’s not as pronounced. This is something that a lot of southern people do since southern accents tend to be correlated with stupidity.

The same goes for people with Caribbean accents. My mother’s accent gets stronger and stronger the longer she talks to her family from back home. But if she’s talking to her neighbors, you wouldn’t know she’s from another country.

Y’all complain about stupid shyt.

Yes ATL is full of transplants who grew up in the suburbs, not the hood so they add extra to their accent to seem more authentic.

These rappers are playin characters but I understand people want to believe the persona.
