Heard of her on JBP for the first time like last week. First week numbers are also getting played out, the replay value of your shyt is mad important
Not in the streaming era. This is the quick hit era. You put out your single, put out a solid project of streamable music to hopefully make a few playlists and then tour soon after in a small venue with hopes of getting a festival bag

with all the ways music can be heard and go viral these days, you can survive a slow first week and still do well.

not comparing the quality of the music. but doja "only" did 105k first week, and she was at 1.5M by the end of 2021.

the problem is i'm not sure if latto has any other big singles left. if she was gonna go the big energy route, she should have leaned all the way into the pink friday bag and delivered more crossover records.

long-term tho, it's her first effort. get better and try again, fukk it.
I havent listened to the album but from her JBP interview this was pose to be a "rappity" album where she focused on bars over the sex/slut stuff Cardi/Meg have. Im guessin the label not gonna let her release another project like this and it's back to the cardi/Meg stuff. :manny:
Tbh the only time I ever heard her was the thot rap stuff. The Meeting song with Gucci/Foo. Kirk with Duke Duece. Sometimes you gotta stick with pays the bills.

It’s more important in this era than ever. In the 90’s once I bought the album that was it. Nowadays kids are streaming 2 or 3 album sales

Replay value is super important in this era. There’s so many more artists competing for attention. That’s why songs and albums getting shorter to get people to replay them over and over.

i listened. you can definitely hear how much room she has to grow as a rapper and songwriter. but i thought it was a solid first effort.
