I'm noticing women of color are winning for Progressives while males Black and White get close but lose. Is it just happenstance or is their something about the demo that works favorably? Or maybe because the House is more regional office and not statewide? Could be all of these.

I think it's the same reason something like compassionate conservatism rings hollow. Men are seen as avatars of policy. A simple yes or no. Women are thought of having actually embodying the policy they fight for.
