That's because you're thinking small and Lavar is thinking big, no offense. You're caught up in basketball, Lavar is caught up in building a brand. He doesn't REALLY give a fukk about playing one-on-one with Jordan or Chuck or anything like that (outside of maybe that having been a childhood dream or some such shyt), he's just trying to keep the Ball name out there and it's working. Lavar is ahead of the media/fans on this, and it's going to work.
Well, that's not a LaVar Ball thing, we can say that about any product before it's proven. Companies take this leap of faith all of the time though. Nike handed LeBron James $90 million before he stepped foot in the NBA. And he's putting his money, his name, his brand, on the line for his CHILDREN. Outside of how you feel about the way he talks shyt, I don't see how anybody could really criticize that. If you're waiting before something is already successful to get behind it, then you're already too late. I gotta appreciate his vision.Building a brand is fine, but Big Baller Basketball is horrible.
There's an important factor to consider, his kids still haven't played a minute in the NBA so we don't know if his brand is selling anything until we see how they play. Until we see what he looks like on the court, all of this means crap.
It's not about small or big, it's about gambling. Dude is taking a risk that his kid is going to do well in the NBA and is really shelling out (that's cool from a dad's perspective).
But objectively? Time will tell that. Period.
But right now, everybody is clowning them (hence the gamble). The clothes look horrible and when it comes to fashion, if something is labeled "lame" or "ugly" or has a bad label attached to it, nobody is going to wear that because they'll end up looking stupid too and get clowned. Not the best for their "brand." Got to know when to push and when to pull.
But if you brehs think it's great, go ahead and fall in line for some attire and rock it in public.
